Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta on Friday commissioned the Warri-Effurun flyover constructed over the busy Effurun roundabout in Uvwie Local Government Area of the state.
Uduaghan used the occasion to underscore the point that the state-wide acceptance of the electoral victory of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa as the governor-elect was evidence of the success of his government's Peace and Security Agenda commenced in 2007.
The four-lane flyover, with both sides of the dual-carriageway measuring approximately one kilometre, was constructed at a cost of about N4.1 billion.
The Effurun Roundabout serves as an important traffic watershed especially for vehicular traffic on the Warri-Effurun-Sapele-Benin Road, the NPA-DSC Expressway as well as the Effurun-Port Harcourt part of the East-West Road.
The Effurun Roundabout flyover bridge is the second of such projects to be commissioned by Dr Uduaghan within a space of about two weeks.
The N3.5 billion Summit Round/Inter-Bau Junction Flyover Bridge in Asaba, the state capital, was commissioned earlier by the governor.
While performing the official launching during an impressive ceremony on the bridge on Friday, Uduaghan noted that the promise of his administration to finish strong was not a fluke as the people had witnessed numerous state government projects commissioned across the state especially in the last few weeks.
